Week 2 was my first assignment in the field.
I came to city hall. My sponsor, one of the photographers for the city, was on vacation. However, another photographer was present and was working with a parks director. I was given an assignment to do 'stock photography'. Stock photography is used for the purpose of covering stories and having images relevant to that story instead of attaining certain photographs through other means (paying for stock images).
The parks director and the photographer were working on a story that relates to how water in retention ponds or other bodies of water in city parks use recycled water. My assignment was to get stock photography at any city park and get pictures of ponds or any body of water.
I went to Blue Cypress park that is not too far from my house. It was an overcast day which was perfect for me taking pictures. However, it was awfully humid that day as well.
I returned to city hall a couple of days later, edited the photographs, and turned them in.
The photographer who sent me out on the assignment commended me and let my sponsor know that I did an excellent job.
